Bolstering Leadership and Strengthening Security, Compliance and Trust at OKX

By Linda A. Lacewell, OKX Global Chief Legal Officer

At OKX, we know that long-term success in crypto and Web3 depends on innovation. It also requires earning trust through strong compliance, robust law enforcement collaboration, effective oversight, and constructive engagement with policymakers. The industry is evolving quickly, and we’re committed to setting the standard for responsible growth while safeguarding our customers and the integrity of the market.

That’s why we continue to invest in exceptional leadership across compliance, investigations, and policy. Most recently, we welcomed Jared Der-Yeghiayan - one of the most respected figures in crypto investigations - as Director of Investigations. During his tenure at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Jared played a leading role in dismantling the Silk Road marketplace and led “Operation Onymous,” a coordinated global crackdown on dark web markets. In the private sector, he has directed cybercrime and intelligence teams at Chainalysis, Recorded Future, and Amazon.

Compliance has always been at the heart of OKX’s strategy. As of June 2025, our Global Legal and Compliance team includes more than 120 legal and 475 compliance professionals spanning financial crimes compliance, token listing, transaction monitoring, trade compliance and market surveillance, and regulatory compliance. These teams work closely together to ensure every aspect of our business not only meets, but often exceeds, global regulatory expectations.

To build on this foundation, we have made several key leadership appointments this year. My appointment as Global Chief Legal Officer and the addition of Jonathan Brockmeier as Global Chief Compliance Officer reflect our commitment to ensuring that our expertise matches the scale of our ambitions. We also welcomed Mark Wetjen as Global Head of Policy and Regulatory Affairs, drawing on his deep experience as Acting Chairman of the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission as well as executive roles leading market-infrastructure companies in traditional finance and crypto.

Mark brings invaluable insight into how markets can be regulated responsibly, and his leadership will help OKX continue to navigate complex policy environments while maintaining a forward-looking approach.

With the right people, processes, and principles in place, OKX is building for growth, and for a sustainable, compliant, and well-regulated future in every market we serve.
